The Compass parent portal is the primary way of communication between the school
and home, using your unique username and password.
Contact the school office if you need assistance on how to access the portal or if you have not received your username and password.
The school currently has a number of parent modules available on Compass:
Attendance – view your child’s attendance on-line, approve absences, and indicate future absence.
News Feed – the school will post news to parents to remind you about events and activities at the school. Your news feed will be customised, showing only the information relevant to you and your children.
Timetable – you will be able to view your child’s timetable and college schedule
Assessment tasks – monitor your child’s assessments tasks
Update contact details – easily update your email, phone number and other contact information
Reports – access your child’s reports
Parent/Student/Teacher interviews – make appointments with teachers.
Excursions – approve your child’s participation in excursions and other special events. You will also be able to pay for these on-line.

Your Compass Homepage
The home screen provides you with relevant alerts and news, as well as quick access to your child’s profile.
Allows you to access other Compass and school resources.
The Tools Menu (cog icon) allows you to update your contact details and change your password.
Custom notifications for items that require your action or attentions. These may include absence notifications, student report availability and more:
- Outstanding absences or late arrivals that require a note or approval
- Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences that are available for available for booking
- Semester Reports or Progress Reports that are available to download
This section provides you with a quick summary of available options, and highlights a summary of upcoming and overdue tasks. To access more information click on the relevant quick link or select ‘Profile’ to access detailed information about your child. Options here may include:
- Your children’s profile page
- Email functionality
- Attendance pages customised for your children, where motes/approvals can be entered
- Academic reports for your child
- Parent/Student/Teachers Conference bookings
- Any overdue Learning Tasks that your student has not yet submitted
Recent school news items and information relevant to parents. This may include newsletters, details of upcoming events and much more.
How to Update Your Email Address & Mobile Number
It is important that we have your current email address, as this is now our preferred method of communication with you about your child.
Upon first log in via a web browser you will be prompted to update this information. You can update this information at any time by:
- Accessing Tools (cog at the top right of the screen)
- Selecting Update My Details (only available in the browser version)
Parents can add absence approvals ahead of time or on the day using the Action Button next to their student’s name from the Compass home page. This allows you to add an approval and select the date range for the approval.
Clicking on the “Add Note/Approval” option will open the Note/Approval Editor screen. Parents can select the reason, add details, select the dates & the start & finish time for the approval. Once these details are entered, click on the “Save” button and this information will be recorded against the student’s attendance approvals tab on their profile.
Please let us know if you have not supplied an email address to the school, or if your email address has recently changed. It is important that we have your current email address, as this is now our preferred method of communication with you about your child.

On the homepage view, select the student
On the navigation bar across the top of the app, select ‘dashboard’.
Complete the details for the student absence.
To finish and submit, select ‘Add Approval’
Once you are logged in, select reports from navigation bar.
Select relevant semester
Report will download to your device (example report is shown).
Once you are logged in, select student and timetable will be visible.
Example Ron Weasley schedule for today.
Once you are logged in, select the ‘Tasks’ tab to view assigned tasks to the selected student.
Once you are logged in, you will need to open a web browser via the Compass app to send an email communication to the student’s teacher.
As the App will then open the desktop version of Compass, you may need to pinch the screen to zoom in.
Select ‘Send Email’ to write your email.

Compass Promotion Terms and Conditions
Our Compass promotion runs from 22 February 2017 to 08 March 2017.
The winner will be drawn from a list of Compass users who have logged-in for the first time and those who have updated their details. This can be done through the desktop version or App version.
The winners will be contacted directly from details provided on Compass and names published on the school Facebook page.
To enter the draw, users need to have logged into Compass for the first time or existing users updated their information within Compass during the promotion period.
