Nayook’s Rubicon Outdoor Centre – An unforgettable experience

Earlier in the year, 24 lucky Year 10 students attended a four day residential program at Rubicon Outdoor Centre in Nayook. Their focus was on Collaboration – Respectful Relationships and Character Strengths from the Positive Education movement.

Alex McClean, program co-ordinator  expressed how their enthusiasm and inclusive group behaviour shined as they participated in the various activities. These included the Canopy Quest High Ropes course and Team Tree Challenges on the Nayook property, Caving through the Britannia Creek Caves near Yarra Junction, a Snow-Shoe hike to the top of Mt Baw Baw as well as community projects onsite at Nayook.

Students gained an understanding of how their own strengths of character could enhance a group’s efforts towards a goal. Many students left the Rubicon program interested in stepping up to more leadership opportunities at school and beyond.

A great outcome for all involved.
