Year 9 Elective – Photography

Course Description:

Students will learn the operation and function of the digital camera in the production of a folio of photograph, including landscapes and portraits and creative digital manipulation using effects with Adobe Photoshop. They will learn techniques in improving their photographs by applying art elements, design principles and composition.

Students will study other photographic artists to further understand photographic studio practice. There will be a number of tutorials in Adobe Photoshop, which is the industry standard software in the correction, manipulation and publication of photographs.

Students will attend a photographic excursion to the city and will display their finished photographs at the end of the semester in an exhibition.
