Dear Parent/Guardian

I would like to welcome you to Pakenham Secondary College.  We are a great school achieving great results for our students.

The transition from primary to secondary school can be a huge step for both students and their families. At Pakenham Secondary College, we have a fine tradition of best supporting the learning and wellbeing of students, a breadth of programs and opportunities, outstanding facilities, and a vibrant community of parents, students and teachers who are really committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for all. Our College Motto of ‘We Grow Through Connection’ supports and aligns with the strong sense of community at our great school – the team work that exists between students, staff and families is outstanding. It is this teamwork that supports positive connections allowing for further growth and improvement in the learning and wellbeing of our students.

As a College, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional learning opportunities for our students. We support our students to demonstrate learning growth across all of their subjects and programs. We offer sport and physical education activities, performing arts and instrumental music programs, extension and enrichment initiatives, and opportunities for student leadership within our College Community.

Our College offers fantastic core, elective and extracurricular programs at all year levels, each directed towards learning growth, student wellbeing and developing positive future pathways. Our curriculum is designed to cater to a wide range of student interests and learning styles, and is supported by the very best teaching practices through a dedicated team of Leading Teachers, Learning Specialists and Key Learning Area Leaders and Classroom Teaching Staff. Our dedicated teaching and support staff have the talent, experience and skills to get the best out of students, and they are committed to their own professional growth. We know our students, and our personalised approach gets results.

To further support you as a family to make a smooth transition from primary to secondary school, you are invited to the PSC Principal’s Morning Tea on Friday 8 September at 10am in the Lecture Theatre.
