Support
The PSC Careers Centre is open every school day during recess and lunch for students to access staff and information.
Counselling
Year 10 and 11 students receive one-to-one course counselling sessions with our career and pathways team.

Kenneth Rueda
University
Kenneth is studying Biomedical Science at Monash University, a three year course that offers a pathway into medicine and a further four years of tuition. Kenneth’s advice: work hard, keep good study habits and follow your dreams!
Karen Mulder
TAFE
As part of her VETis programme in years 11 and 12, Karen did a Certificate II in Animal Studies. She is now studying a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services at Box Hill Institute and hopes to one day work at Collingwood Children’s Farm.
Dean Jackson
University
Dean is doing a Bachelor of Sport Science/Bachelor of Psychological Studies double degree at Victoria University, which will take four years to finish. Despite the differences to school, Dean has adapted successfully and enjoys his study.
Aaron Dunkley
University
Having completed a VET Certificate in Engineering at PSC, Aaron has begun a two-year Advanced Diploma in Engineering Technology (Civil) at RMIT. He hopes to move into the degree course and work as a project manager, construction manager or design engineer.
Vocational awareness
Following the Victorian Careers Curriculum Framework, every student from Years 7 to 12 is given career guidance and awareness.
Individual differences and a variety of learning styles and needs is reflected in the later years subjects and programmes offered at PSC.
Years 7-9
Students are supported to find their strengths and interests, explore good learning habits and develop a positive self-image to build a basis for a future pathway.
Students combine their abilities with good communication skills to focus on future life, the world of work and further study. Students’ self knowledge in relation to skills, interests and abilities is built
Years 10-12
Year 10 students do a work education programme and one week of work experience. Students are supported by the careers team with subject selection.
In years 11 and 12, students apply their knowledge to make good choices when working out their pathway. A Career Action Plan (CAP) helps them think about their goals before making an application for the next stage in their life.

PSC Careers Centre
The Careers Centre is loaded with great resources for students, and a careers team member is able to assist students throughout the day.
All information is independent, accurate and up-to-date. We hope the knowledge gained from the Careers Centre gives students lifelong learning options and helps with the choices they make in the future. Remember also to check out the College’s great online careers resource.
